Samia Malik
Brief History
Samia Malik, born in Saudi Arabia to Pakistani parents, resident in the UK since the age of six, writes, composes and performs songs and poems in Urdu and English.
She spends her time performing, leading workshops on aspects of Indian music and song writing. Samia is also a trained teacher, has two children and lives in Norfolk.

Experience in teaching/performing
Samia has worked extensively and successfully for 15 years in the UK and abroad and is based in Norwich. She is a fully qualified teacher as well as a performer and workshop leader.
Workshops provided & duration
Samia's workshops cover all aspects of Indian Music, including looking at the instruments, Raag (scale) and Taal (rhythm) and learning simple songs. For older students, Samia can also offer workshops in song writing. Sessions can go from 30 minutes to a whole day, depending on the age, ability and needs of the participants.
Performances provided & duration
From 10minutes to two hours, either solo or with accompanying musicians and/or dancers as required.
Preferred age groups
Wide experience in teaching all ages and abilities, with National Curriculum links, from nursery age to the elderly.
